The founder and organiser of E C Michaels Short Story Prize unveils its 2021 edition. This came up in a release made by its founder, E C Michaels, on Facebook.
Also revealed in the Facebook release are its eligibility and submission guidelines. Submission of an entry is taken as acceptance of these stipulations.
ELIGIBILITY:
— Entrants must be residence in Nigeria.
— Must be 18 years and above.
— Must not necessarily be a published author. Unpublished writers are strongly encouraged to submit.
ENTRY GUIDELINES:
— The Entry must not be less than 2000 or more than 2500 words.
— Entry must be an original work of the writer.
— Entry must not be published, either in part or in whole in any platform, social media inclusive until the end of the contest.
— Only entries submitted via [email protected] will be accepted.
— One writer, one entry. Double entry leads to automatic disqualification.
— Entry must be submitted as an attachment in a WORD DOCUMENT format. New Romans font. 14pt
— Entry must be saved with the title of the story. The name of the writer, or his/her pen name must not in any way appear on the document. Non adherence to this leads to automatic disqualification.
– Author’s bio, including Full name, phone number, email address and social media handles, mostly Facebook, must accompany the entry as the body of the mail.
– The subject of the mail should comprise of the title of the entry, suffixed by E MICHAELS SHORT STORY PRIZE 2021. E.G: DARK MIRROR: E C MICHAELS SHORT STORY PRIZE 2021
— The story should carefully mirror the theme of the competition.
— For the period of the contest, entries are sole properties of E C MICHAELS and the body has the right to use it for any intellectual purpose other than profit making.
— Winner is chosen by a unanimous vote and decision of the seasoned judges.
DEADLINE:
— All entries must be submitted on or before 12 midnight, 31st August, 2021.
— Late entries will not be accepted, unless deadline is extended.
PRIZE:
A cash prize of N15,000 will be given to the winner of the contest.
