An In-law’s Message
Don’t treat me like a baby, in-law,
at thirty and five I am too old
to toss on cradling laps
You gave me your daughter to marry
but take yam and fish from the concubine
No, in-law,
if you truly look at me
you will see I do not carry a tail
behind my back
In-law,
you are like the white man
who made the pencil one day
and the next flooded the world with erazers.
