Why should I rage

Why should I rage that
The fire I strove with fame
To light in your heart
Has not come to flame?
O, passion has spent his fuel
On wet wood, gone out in shame
Down dank bog soil!
A man of faith can
With lightning strike the cruel
Fig-tree. But what can
I, blind with smoke,
Choking with smoke,
Am unable in despair
To stifle a tear ?
